Mr. Jakob Henningsen – Danish Ambassador to Poland  

Jakob Henningsen is a seasoned Danish diplomat with a distinguished career spanning over two decades in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Currently, he serves as the Ambassador of Denmark to Poland, having assumed the role in August 2024. Prior to this, he was appointed Ambassador to Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan in 2022.

Ambassador Henningsen’s extensive experience includes postings in Dar es Salaam and Ottawa, as well as significant roles in Brussels at the Danish Delegation to NATO and in Copenhagen within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has also served as Chief Advisor on Foreign Policy and National Security in the Prime Minister’s Office.

A graduate of Aarhus University and the University of Warwick, Ambassador Henningsen has furthered his expertise through executive courses at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and Queen’s University. 

Fluent in Danish and English, Ambassador Henningsen is committed to strengthening Denmark’s diplomatic ties and promoting shared values on the global stage.
